D T Dobie Staff welfare intiative received Kshs.3.5 million boost from the parent company, CFAO - France, who were most impressed with the welfare programme instituted by the staff members who adopted Upendo Village in Naivasha as our Corporate Responsibility programme.

After a tour by D T Dobie Peer Educators of Upendo Village in 2007, we mobilized fellow staff members into adapting 5 children from the home and donating a percentage of their monthly salaries towards their upkeep and education.

Sister Florence Muia, Founder and President of Upenod Village took representatives of D T Dobie on a tour around the premises and showed them the activities the women take part in like basket weaving from disposed plastic paper bags which they sell to earn their keep.

D T Dobie also contributed a Nissan Hardbody pick-up to the village to aid them in carrying out their daily activities which would ease their transportation load.
